Geri and I are cruising the Baltic sea this summer, visiting an eclectic collection of Scandinavian and eastern Baltic nations with Regent Seven Seas.
We'll be flying into Stockholm a few days before our cruise departure and staying a few extra days in Copenhagen post-cruise to explore the roots of my personal Scandinavian design obsessions. We'll also visit the Baltic sister-cities of Helsinki and Tallinn, both former Soviet Union members before gaining their independence in the 20th century.
In between, we'll have a few days to explore a particular highlight of our trip -
St Petersburg, Russia's capital city for 200 years. Assuming we're allowed to leave, we'll sail to northern Germany to visit it's current capitol, Berlin.
We're looking forward to taking you all along!

We've sailed twice with Regent Seven Seas on the Mariner, but this time we'll be on the Explorer.
The newest of Regent's fleet, its construction was the subject of a
PBS Nova episode.
